Dynamic Magnetic Resonance Imaging of Healthy Swallow Physiology

Swallowing disorders are common in head and neck cancer patients and have a significant health impact. Unfortunately, despite the significance of the disorder, major gaps in our knowledge regarding the normal swallowing mechanism persist.  In this article THANC aims to implement dynamic magnetic resonance imaging (dMRI) to visualize the pharynx and upper esophageal segment in normal, healthy subjects in hopes of characterizing normal parameters for swallow analysis using this technology.
