Effects of Jaw Exercise Intervention Timing on Outcomes

A pilot study following oral & oropharyngeal cancer surgery.

In many head and neck cancer patients, trismus (lockjaw) can make speech and swallowing difficult and thus compromise the quality of life. This pilot study found that jaw range of motion exercise therapy may improve quality of life measurements, especially when the jaw exercises are initiated early.
