Barry & Ronni Weinstein

Barry and Ronni Weinstein talk about Barry’s battle against salivary gland cancer, providing an in-depth discussion about what it is like to undergo radiation therapy.

Barry describes how he felt going to work every day during his 7 weeks of radiation, how tired he felt, and how challenging the experience was, both physically and mentally. Barry explains that he insisted on going to work because it allowed him to feel somewhat normal during what was otherwise an extremely abnormal and stressful time. He viewed the radiation as something he simply had to complete in order to be sure that he would be ok, and the cancer would not come back.

We interviewed Barry and Ronni in December of 2012, and were impressed by their ability to speak so frankly about their journey. We hope that Barry’s dedication to completing his treatment despite its many challenges will provide inspiration to others going through similar experiences.
