Hannah Sfreddo joins THANC’s Junior Board with a long-term desire to help patients and families affected by head and neck cancer. As a research fellow at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, she spent a year in the laboratory studying HPV-positive head and neck cancer, thyroid cancer, and adenoid cystic carcinoma. Earlier this year, she traveled to Bhutan to investigate the prevalence and treatment of HPV-positive head and neck cancer in the region. She will graduate with an M.D. with AOA distinction from Stony Brook University School of Medicine in 2024 and hopes to begin a lifelong career working with this patient population in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery.
