Show your Support: Attend the Annual Check-Up from the Neck Up Benefit to Take Place September 26, 2015.

Four years ago, Caitlyn Hendrie’s grandmother, Joan Burgess passed away from anaplastic thyroid cancer—a rare, fatal thyroid disease. Caitlyn found out about the THANC Foundation shortly thereafter. When she approached us via email she wanted to organize a benefit to raise money in support of the Foundation’s mission. From that initial email conversation the first Check-Up from the Neck Up Benefit was established. Each September, with the help of her tightly-knit friends and family, she has raised money by raffling prizes, selling t-shirts, and auctioning off packages. Since that first benefit in 2012, the crowd and the prizes have gotten bigger. Last year, they raised nearly $3500 for THANC! Caitlyn Hendrie is a vibrant, enterprising young woman. Her tireless and nearly autonomous efforts show that it only takes a bit of willpower and heart to achieve the goals you set forth for yourself.
