Foody Friday: Thyroid-Friendly Apple Crisp

They say an apple a day keeps the doctor away! Well, what about apple crisp? Here is a sweet, thyroid-friendly recipe.

6-8 … Granny Smith applies, peeled & sliced
3/4 c … Brown sugar
1/2 c … Flour
1/2 c … Oats
3/4 tsp … Cinnamon
1/4 tsp … Nutmeg
8 T … Butter, soft
3/4 c … Walnuts, chopped

Preheat oven to 375ºF. Grease a 9 inch round Pyrex pie dish with butter.

Place apples in bottom of pie dish. Combine the brown sugar, flour, oats, cinnamon, nutmeg, and butter. Mix well. Add the walnuts and mix to combine. Sprinkle over the apples.
