The reason for choosing cancer as my 2023 running theme comes from the loss of a dear friend. She did not suffer from Head and Neck Cancer, but from Cholangiocarcinoma. Because she was always trying to help others and bring happiness, even in her most painful days, I want to honor her by doing my best in helping those that are newly diagnosed, getting treatment, or those that have lost family and friends.
My connection to Head and Neck hits close to home, and my need to end suffering is what drives me.
