Running 26.2 miles on Nov 5th in honor of my dad, a Throat Cancer Survivor!
My dad was diagnosed with stage 3 Throat Cancer (never smoked) in the fall of 2015. He underwent chemo and radiation. He ended up with a PEG (feeding tube) due to his inability to swallow for 4 months. The treatment was beyond tough for him and awful for my family to watch and help him through.
Now he is thankfully 1.5 years cancer free!
Over the past 10 years there has been a 4 to 5 fold increase in the # of cases of oropharynx cancers in the US! All as a result of the HPV infection.
Lets give to the THANC Foundation in order to help increase research to beat this terrible cancer! And help patients and their families who have to endure the tough journey.
